  • It's tough to run in the snow. It's tougher to run in the solid snow. It's absolutely grueling to run in the hard snow that breaks just as you take a step.
Pros:
  • I thought that Friday's super heavy route for the muscles would slow down today's run, but no, it was really OK to run.
Cons:
  • Snowy trails in the fores were in a terrible condition: deep, narrow and bumpy, and snow was solid.

This 21.1 kilometers was harder than 21.1. kilometers last time, but not as hard as 30 kilometers a week ago. But anyway, there was so much snow that this was a really tough one.

  • I tried to figure out how to run in a deep snow. Well, I didn't figure out anything else than just push on. It's tough anyway. Longer step helps to go faster, but it consumes energy faster.

This time my goal was to run 10 kilometers under one hour. Otherwise an easy goal, except the route went through forests and fields. Goal achieved anyway!

  • Average speed easily drops down when you are running in a snowy field or meadow, but just keep up the speed. It's not that hard.

  • Smooth weather. Zero degrees.

I was about to run an easy six kilometers route after the previous day’s 30 kilometers route, but because I felt so good, the weather was fine and the route in the forest was nice, I decided to make it a bit longer.

Last Tuesday’s 21.1 kilometers was tough, because I run mostly in a snowy forest. Well, I thought I’ll run even tougher run by running more in a forest. Unfortunately it didn’t turn out to be so hard, so I run this 30 kilometers. And yes, it was hard. Really hard, but quite an experience.

Pros:
  • It's so fun to run along the paths in the woods covered with snow.
Cons:
  • It was getting dark towards the end, so I had to come out of the woods earlier than I planned.

This must have been the toughest 21 kilometers I have run. It felt pretty much like 30 kilometers, because majority of the route was trails in a snowy forest. But anyway, what a nice run!
